ARTISOFT ANNOUNCES NEW NDIS SUPPORT FOR LANTASTIC(R) LOCAL
AREA NETWORK
NDIS Support For LANtastic Kit Provides Interconnectivity
For LANtastic Network
(TUCSON, AZ -- March 2, 1993) -- Artisoft, Inc.
announced today that it will be offering LANtastic users a
new kit that allows interconnectivity with other operating
environments as well as providing an NDIS interface to the
LANtastic NetBIOS. The NDIS Support for LANtastic Kit is
scheduled to ship in March (concurrent with version 5.0 of
the LANtastic network), and is priced at $199 per network.
Multi-Protocol Stacking
The NDIS Support for LANtastic Kit allows users to
load or stack multiple protocols allowing transparent access
across different computing platforms such as UNIX(R) (via
NFS), NetWare(R) (using a separate IPX NDIS driver), IBM
Mainframe and various other environments. These protocols
can be loaded and accessed concurrently without interrupting
the LANtastic network connection.
NDIS Interface
The NDIS Support for LANtastic Kit enables a wide
range of adapters that come with NDIS drivers to be
compatible with the LANtastic/AI(TM)
network -- the adapter-independent version of the LANtastic
network operating system. The AI-NDIS driver included in the
kit also links Artisoft's, as well as third-party, NDIS
drivers with the LANtastic network's NetBIOS.
Artisoft develops and manufactures a full line of
innovative, cost-effective network communication solutions
including the LANtastic Local Area Network. Recognized as
the leader in peer-to-peer networking for DOS and
Windows(TM) environments, the LANtastic network now offers
multiplatform connectivity solutions for NetWare(R), TCP/IP
and Macintosh(R) systems. It allows up to 500 users of
IBM(R) -compatible computers to connect and share
information and peripheral devices such as printers, hard
drives and CD-ROMs, and has won numerous industry awards for
its cost-effective features, performance and ease of use.
Artisoft distributes the LANtastic network and its other
connectivity products in over 70 countries worldwide and
maintains international offices in the Netherlands, the
United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Latin America,
Canada, Australia and Japan.
